After School Enrichment Programs

WINTER 2026 Session Registration Opens on December 5th at 10:00 AM

All classes meet on school grounds at Briarcrest Elementary.  Registration for after-school enrichment (ASE) classes is done through 6crickets.com.Visit https://www.6crickets.com/ and select “Enrichment at my School” under the parent tab, and then select Briarcrest. Limited scholarships are available upon request. Please contact the PTA ASE Coordinators at asecoordinator@briarcrestpta.org for more information.

Chess Wizards: Chess Club (K-5)

Chess Wizards is a premier chess education company. Chess Wizards offers fun, intellectual and challenging chess education and tournament experiences to children of all abilities and ages. Students will be divided into groups according to their chess experience. At the end of this session, each student will have the chance to participate in a mini-chess tournament.

Offered for kindergarteners to fifth graders.

 

9 Sessions offered Mondays in the Library from January 12 - March 23 at 3:10-4:10PM. No class on January 19 and February 16.

Seattle Dance Fitness: Kids Hip Hop (K-5)

A weekly dance fitness party where kids move to pop, hip hop, and K‑pop music with fun routines, games, and free dance time using props like scarves and wands. Classes welcome all abilities, focusing on confidence, teamwork, creativity, and coordination. Instructors also introduce elements of hip hop history and culture.

One on One Sports: Soccer (K-2, 3-5)

Grades K-2 Group: Fun skill‑building and scrimmages tailored for younger players, focusing on teamwork and fundamentals.

Grades 3-5 Group: Advanced drills and games for older students, emphasizing strategy, sportsmanship, and skill development.

Offered for kindergarteners to fifth graders, broken out into two separate groups of K-2 and 3-5.

CreArt Studioz: Create. Explore. Inspire. – Artists of the Northwest (K-5)

This Winter kids dive into real materials—paint, clay, collage, printmaking, and textiles—while creating geometric animals, clay trolls, spooky charcoal houses, Rainier yarn paintings, comics, kinetic silhouettes, fauvist cityscapes, and bold portrait prints. We learn Northwest

design principles respectfully (kids create original personal symbols), and focus on process over perfection so artists build confidence and joy.

Dandylyon Drama: Playmakers Creators (3-5)

Playmakers is our theatre enrichment program designed specifically for Briarcrest 3rd–5th graders. Through playful creativity and collaboration, students work alongside professional teaching artists to co‑create an original performance. Each week, participants build confidence, friendships, and stage skills while exploring the magic of storytelling. Playmakers meet once a week for 8 sessions, each lasting 1 hour, right after school at Briarcrest. The program culminates in a short showcase for families and friends, complete with props and accessories, celebrating the creativity and teamwork of our young performers.

Offered for third to fifth graders.

Seattle Kids Yoga: Kids Yoga (K-2)

Seattle Kids Yoga classes are filled with kid-friendly yoga poses and breathing exercises, mindfulness, games, opportunities for relaxation, and A LOT of fun! SKY instructors design engaging, inclusive, and educational classes based on children’s interests and abilities, with the intention of giving them the tools to take yoga and mindfulness “off the mat” and into the world. We believe in planting the seeds of yoga and mindfulness at an early age so that they can grow into a lifelong practice. Art, music, books, and time for sharing and reflection are infused into the classes to create a unique and enjoyable experience for all.

10 Sessions offered Tuesdays in the Library from January 13 - March 24 at 3:10-4:10PM. No class on February 17. Substitute instructors on Feb 11 and Mar 25.

AI & Robotics Academy: Robotics and Coding (K-5)

Kids learn to build and design basic robots using very familiar tools, turning imagination into reality. Through hands-on projects and interactive lessons, students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills. They will learn to build and program robots, explore the world of electronics, and understand the fundamentals of computer science. Our program fosters a collaborative and supportive learning environment where students can work together, share ideas, and celebrate their achievements.
